History Designed by Commander Francesco Rotundi and built at the port of Stabia in 1931, this steel hull motorized sailing ship is still in service for the Italian Navy. She carries a crew of 400, capable of instructing 150 naval cadets in the art of seamanship under sail.
The ModelBuilt from commercial ship model plans by Panart, completed in 2000. Scale 1:84. All parts handmade, including mahogany cabins, boats, etc. Signed on hull. Cased dimensions: Length 56?, height 32?, width 17.5?.
The ArtistMike Findley has been building ship models for seventeen years, specializing in historic sailing ship models. He has done restoration and commission work for Vallejo Gallery in Newport Beach, California, a premier dealer in ship models and nautical antiques.
