HistoryBuilt in 1939 in Hamburg for whale catching in Antarctic waters. Steam powered and heavily built for ice breaking.
The ModelGraupner design hull abs superstructure veneer. Fittings combine commercial plastic and brass with handmade fittings. Scale 1:32. L 40", W 8", H 19". Signed inside hull.
The ArtistKenny Fraser has been building ship models for 25 years, specializing in tugs and oil related nautical subjects. He is chief engineer on a passenger ferry plying the waters around the Orkney Islands.
