HistoryThe first successful hydrofoil designed by Alexander Graham Bell in 1918. Powered by Renault aircraft engines, she achieved a record 71 MPH in her 1919 speed trials.
The ModelBuilt from commercial ship model plans obtained from the Bell Museum in Nova Scotia, using the modeleršs materials and methods. Propellers operable with internal battery. Scale 1:24. LOA 30˛.
The ArtistMilitary pilot and clinical psychologist Gordon Vandyke has done serious ship modeling since 1975. His eclectic interests include early modern vessels of historic interest, and his ship models are alive with personal detail. He is now living in Maple, Ontario and volunteers at an aviation museum where he engages in restorative work.
