HistoryHALF MOON was the name of the ship that sailed into New York Harbor on September 11, 1609.  It was captained by Henry Hudson, who was in service for the Dutch Republic.  He discovered the river which now bears his name.
The ModelExtreme minature, handcrafted in woods noted as birch, pine and basswood. Minute detail with fully finished interior. Treated bond paper sails with accurate markings. Full Rig. Plans are from the original 1989 reconstruction drawings. Scale - 1: 170  Length - 8"  Width - 3 1/2"  Height - 9 1/4".
The ArtistRex Stewart has specialized in building model ships for nearly forty years. His focus has been on ships of all national origins, including Steamboats and Sailing Ships. Will consider commissions and specialized restoration work.
