History Baltimore clippers were built for speed under sail in the early 19th century, with sharp angled bow and extreme raking masts. Used as privateers in the War of 1812 for their ability to overtake and capture laden cargo vessels. The Model Superlative ship model of contrasting African woods, including hull planking of Bokapi and masts and booms of Sapeli. Hand-rubbed oil finish. LOA 36 inches.
