HistoryCargo passenger liner built by Harland & Wolff at Belfast, Ireland in 1949 for the Blue Funnel Line, Alfred Holt & Co. She provided service between the United Kingdom and Australia, at a top speed of 18 knots. Length 498 feet.
The ModelImmaculate original ship model from builder’s plans. Plank on frame, mixed media, fitted with lights, geared electric motor, and lead ballast. Radio control capability but not equipped. Scale: 1:96. Length 5 ft., 6 ins.
The ArtistMr. Green worked as a ship draughtsman at Upper Clyde Shipbuilders in Glasgow, Scotland and later at Halifax Shipyard in Nova Scotia. He has built ship models for 20 years.
