HistoryTypical Cape Island 45 foot lobster boat ca 1940-1950, as it would appear after conversion for tourist or charter trade off the coast of Nova Scotia, for sword fishing or whale watching.
The ModelOriginal ship model design from specially created scale plans for a Cape Islander. Plank on frame of clear Eastern White Pine. Topside planked with pine and trimmed with mahogany. Completely finished above and below decks, and presented on a scale slipway. All components and fittings by hand of the artist. Scale 1:16 or ? in to 1 ft. Length 36², Width 15², Height 16² Custom case available.
The ArtistJohn Green has been building ship models in Halifax for the last twenty-three years, specializing in vessels of the rich Canadian Maritime Provinces tradition. He also does commission work and restoration of antique ship models.
