HistoryThe 15th century Carrack is known from woodcuts and engravings, but detailed information is scarce. The high forecastle and stern works are typical of these vessels, which were used for both trade and military purposes.
The ModelOriginal ship model design from published illustrations. This hypothetical or conjectural ship model is handmade of paper on cardstock frame, with bamboo masts and railings, cloth and cotton rigging. Varnish and oil paint finish. Scale 1:100. Length 12², Height 10.6², Width 6.3².
