History Twin screw motor ship built in 1964 by John Brown & Co. in the United Kingdom for the Blue Funnel Line, Alfred Holt & Co. She provided cargo passenger service between Australia and Singapore. Sold to China in 1985 and renamed Hai Long, and later called Hai Da. The Model Superb original ship model from builder’s plans. Plank on frame, mixed media, fitted with lights and two channel radio control. Scale: 1:96. Length approximately 5 feet. The Artist Mr. Green worked as a ship draughtsman at Upper Clyde Shipbuilders in Glasgow, Scotland and later at Halifax Shipyard in Nova Scotia. He has built ship models for 20 years.
