History Typical coasting barge used on the east coast of England for two centuries, with a spritsail fore-and-aft rig easily handled by a small crew. Flat-bottomed with lee boards, examples of these colorful barges can still be seen in English port museums. The Model Original ship model from plans by David Metcalf.
