History The famed battleship served as the site for surrender of the Empire of Japan in 1945, ending the Second World War. She is presently on exhibition on battleship row at Oahu, Hawaii.
The ModelThis 1:100 scale exquisitely detailed ship model is an original design by Mr. Briggs, built from wood laminate and fiberglass, with all fittings hand-made of aluminum and brass. She measures over nine feet in length, and can be used for static display or equipped for remote control operation on water.
The ArtistLowell Briggs runs a small hobby shop with a large and well-equipped workshop in rural Saunierville, Nova Scotia. He is expert at very detailed large scale operating ship models, especially tugboats and fishing boats.
