HistoryTypical 35 foot Maine lobster boat ca 1950 in fully outfitted configuration. These vessels operated in coastal waters from Bar Harbor to Booth Bay, up to the southern shore of Nova Scotia.
The ModelPatterned after a commercial ship model design by Laughing Whale, redrawn and hand-crafted by the artist. Built plank on frame entirely of basswood including all decking and fully finished interior. All components and fittings by hand of the artist. Scale 1:12 or 1 in to 1 ft. Length 35² Width 15² Height 15². Custom case available.
The ArtistJohn Green has been building ship models in Halifax for the last twenty-three years, specializing in vessels of the rich Canadian Maritime Provinces tradition. He also does commission work and restoration of antique ship models.
